Dear Jim,

You aren't exaggerating. You have taken Jack fruit in a right perspective! Hearty Good Luck from India for your Ometepe jackfruit revolution and Jack Festival.

I, as an editor of a unique practicing farmers magazine from India am interested to know and publish the success you are getting with Jack fruit and the results of your own interesting research - that is bringing out the virtues of this rightly called 'Permaculture Rock Star!'

It would be interesting for you to know that we have published hundreds of pages of positive information on Jack fruit on which we are researching, gathering & disseminating info since the last 4 years.

wow great report! I am so jealous of your progress... Chris came to our farm on the outskirts of Managua about three years ago now and we have attempted to implement many of his recommendations. We've put in lots of gandul, some vetiver, and encouraged/cropped volunteer nitrogen-fixing trees. I am really interested in the ojoche, moringa, pitanga and taro. If I come and visit will you give me some cuttings and/or seeds?
So again, congratulations on your 5,000 trees planted this year, again, I am amazed and humbled (and wish I had some volunteers too...) Cheers, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. -Mike Quinn elportonverde.com

Hi Chris,

Just stumbled upon BF, and I am amazed with the project you have going on here. I have never come across a permaculture site that takes community empowerment and development as seriously as BF does. Very, very impressive! I would really be interested in doing an internship there at some point, I hope I can someday :)

Do you think you have enough coffee and/or cacao production to go for a Rainforest Alliance certification? Do you think you'd get a market price premium if you had such a certification?
